Glan-Laser
Glan laser polarizers are air-spaced prisms that transmit the linearly polarized extraordinary beam without deviation from its initial direction and reflect the ordinary ray out of the prism into black glass or an escape port. They are useful in applications requiring high polarization purity, high total transmission and low, medium or high power. Prisms are made of natural calcite or α-BBO for UV use, supplied with MgF2 coatings and in mounts with two, one or no escape ports.
