Yb:KGW Laser Crystals

Yb:KGW crystals have broad emission bandwidths and are used as lasing materials to generate ultrashort (~100-200 fs) high power pulses and as ultrashort pulse amplifiers. Direct pumping with laser diodes at 981 nm supports compact laser systems generating pulses at 1023–1060 nm, with high slope efficiency and low quantum defect. Crystals are typically Np-cut and AR coated for the 980-1040 nm range, with different doping levels and shapes such as slabs, rods and cubes.
